Except as noted, all courses are available as PADI or SDI/TDI certifications.

    Advanced Open Water Diver Course
    Once you have completed as few as five Open Water dives, you have the opportunity to step beyond the Open Water Diver level and try some of diving’s most rewarding and useful specialty activities. To participate in the PADI or SDI Advanced Open Water Diver course you must be 15 years old and have 5 Open Water dives. There are Junior Advanced Open Water Diver courses available for divers ages 12 to 14.

    Becoming an Advanced Open Water Diver helps increase your confidence and experience. This allows you to feel more comfortable in the water and increases your enjoyment of diving because you better understand the underwater environment.

    To become an Advanced Open Water Diver, you and your BearFoot Instructor will complete the additional dives and specialty work that you have decided on. You can go diving at night, check out the local wrecks in the area or even fly through the ocean on a diver propulsion vehicle – all as part of your Advanced Open Water Diver curriculum.

    Rescue Diver
    You can enroll in the Rescue Diver Course as a certified Open Water Diver and participate in the Rescue Diver knowledge development and rescue training sessions (confined water only) while working on your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

    To participate in the rescue training sessions in open water, and to participate in the open water rescue scenarios, you must be certified as a PADI or SDI Advanced Open Water Diver (or have a qualifying certification from another training organization). The minimum age is 15 years old and you are required to show successful completion of a sanctioned CPR program within the past 24 months.

    Master Diver
    Join the ‘top tier’ of recreational scuba divers by becoming a PADI or SDI Master Scuba Diver. You earn it by diving it, writing your ticket to endless adventure through the experience and training that sets you apart as a Master Scuba Diver. With the Master SCUBA Diver rating, you’ve acquired significant training and experience in a variety of dive environments.

    • Minimum number of logged dives: 50
    • Minimum qualifications: Rescue Diver or Junior Rescue Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization), 12 years old, five Specialty Diver certifications..

    PADI Dive Master (Dive Professional)
    Interested in pursuing a career in diving? Take your first step by becoming a PADI Dive Master. With as few as 20 dives and after completion of the PADI Rescue Diver course you can begin your dive career. Working closely with our instructors, you'll expand your dive knowledge and sharpen your skills to the professional level.

    As a PADI Divemaster, you are qualified to supervise and assist with both training and non-training dive activities such as the PADI Discover Local Diving experience, the Scuba Review program, the PADI Discover Snorkeling experience, and the PADI Skin Diver course. Also, after a brief internship, you can conduct the confined water option of the Discover Scuba Diving program
